Discover the engaging benefits of implementing a year-long theme and acquire the tools to begin creating a unique year-long theme of their own. Participants will explore exemplars from previous years: Learning thru Lemurs- Encouraging Environmental and Ecological Awareness and Dog Nation- Cultivating Character thru Canines. Exemplars will outline the elements for an exciting, relevant, and rigorous theme. Websites and resources will be shared for theme-based curriculum. Additionally, participants will be shown how to integrate social media, makerspace, and service learning into the year-long theme. As part of engaging participants, they will help to design my upcoming theme: Toy Story- Teaching with Toys, Fostering Friendships thru Fun! Lastly, a template to setting up a year-long theme will be handed out, as well as an overview exemplar of Learning thru Lemurs.
