Jeremy VanDerKern was awarded the 2017 Nellie Mae Education Foundation Lawrence O'Toole Award "Teacher Leadership" for his approach to student-centered teaching, "blended" classroom environment, and industry partnerships in his Media Arts classes. Through a Running Start partnership with the Community College System of New Hampshire, all of his students can earn dual-enrollment college credits. His students also participate in workplace readiness skills through CTSO's like SkillsUSA. Jeremy now serves on the Board of Directors for SkillsUSA and acts as a teacher leader helping to design CTE curriculum for the New Hampshire Department of Education. Stop in and chat with him about how to maximize Community Teacher Student Organizations (CTSO's), Running Start dual-enrollment College Credit opportunities, and Advisory Boards in Career & Technical Education.
