In this session teachers will learn about Project Lead The Ways K-12 STEM Pathways and see some of the activities available to students. PLTW is a national nonprofit that provides transformative learning experiences for students and teachers through K-12 programs in biomedical, engineering, and computer science. By providing a rigorous project based curriculum that is tied to 21st century skills students need for pursuing careers in STEM students and teachers are inspired, empowered and engaged. Using the APB approach with hands-on, project and problem based real world problems students learn with : Computer Science's K Rosie Runtime to AP CS, Biomedical- infection detection to internships and forensic science, and Engineering - engineering constraints in grade 1 to designing and presenting their own real world device. The PLTW K-12 Pathways enables all students to have these learning experiences. With our Professional Development and ongoing support, teachers learn the APB approach, the curriculum, industry level software and gain to knowledge to deliver it with confidence.
